This page is an introduction page of the site. For the topic itself, see Mudiwiiki (Object).
Etymology
Mudiwiiki is a portmanteau of mudiwii and wiki.
Mudiwii is the acronym of the author’s full name (with extra i), and wiki is defined as “hypertext publication collaboratively edited and managed by its own audience directly using a web browser” (according to Wikipedia). The later is a bit of misnomer, however, as this site is managed and edited solely by the author. The actual reason behind the naming was simply because the author came up with it one day and couldn’t think of any catchier name for a personal blog.
On a more serious note, the decision to call this site a “wiki” did not come from its editing system nor pure goof, but more of its formatting style and web architecture. That is, the readers will likely not find narrative articles telling them how the author’s day went as one might do on many personal blog posts. Instead, the readers will likely find explanatory pages with rigorous definitions, detailed breakdowns, and highly descriptive writing style complete with hyperlinks on every single fancy terminologies. Or as one might like to call it, Wikipedia-like writing. That’s the author’s conception of this blog (although he admitted expecting that once put in practice that would not always be the case, so expect some freely-written rambling paragraphs every now and then).
Overview
Mudiwiiki is one of the author’s self projects. This is a personal blog that will be filled with various topics of the author’s life, from the self-defining significances to the obscure minutiae, with one page dedicated to one topic. Each topic will be written as descriptive and logical as possible in the style imitating Wikipedia article writing guidelines (with some potential exceptions) while still accomodating the author’s personal impression and subjectivity. Topics are classified into four fundamental categories: People, Things, Concepts, and Events. A timeline system is also currently under conception. With this approach, the readers will hopefully get to know anything they want to know about the author in a clear but still intimate way (well, either that, or you get the most boring personal blog you could ever imagine). This blog is merely a physical manifestation of My Mind Wiki, an imaginary wiki that has existed fully within the author’s mind for at least half a decade prior to the first post on this blog.
With all of that being said, please be aware that just like its abstract version, nothing in or about this blog is guaranteed to be fixed in stone. Readers are advised to expect that many of what’s written here may feel incomplete or incoherent, or even contradictory with each other. Consider this blog as the author’s huge messy and personal draft that everyone somehow have gained access to. Everything, from the content of each individual posts to the very core concept of this blog itself is bound to change from time to time, just like the nature of everything else in life.
Language
While one of the purpose of creating this blog is to help improving the author’s English writing skill, some pages will be written in Bahasa Indonesia depending on what the author thinks can convey the information more effectively and comfortably. Mistakes are to be expected, corrections are highly encouraged.
